Linux System Administrator
We are currently looking for a Linux System Administrator to support and develop our server infrastructure: configure Linux servers, automate routine tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure infrastructure stability and observability.
The role involves hands-on Linux work, automation, and troubleshooting: from server configuration and file system management to monitoring and identifying the root causes of infrastructure issues.
Stack: Linux, Bash, Ansible, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Consul, VMware ESXi, TCP/IP, VLAN/VXLAN, Git. Python, GitLab CI/CD, HashiCorp Vault, and Nomad would be a plus.
Responsibilities
- Configure servers using Ansible playbooks;
- Troubleshoot common server and software issues and perform additional in-place configuration by making targeted changes to settings;
- Perform basic troubleshooting and collect the information needed to resolve issues;
- Monitor infrastructure using Zabbix, Grafana, and Consul.
Requirements
- You are familiar with Linux, confident using the command line, have written Bash scripts, are comfortable with Vim, and know how to use awk and sed;
- You understand file systems and access control in Linux;
- You have edited configuration files in /etc and have worked with .ssh/config more than once;
- You understand the TCP/IP stack, know what the 802.1Q standard is related to, and understand the difference between VLAN and VXLAN;
- You have experience with VMware ESXi or another virtualization platform;
- You have worked with Zabbix, know where to find the Maintenance section, and have experience with Grafana and/or Prometheus;
- You understand the difference between git commit and git push.
Nice to have
- Experience writing scripts in Python;
- Understanding of GitLab CI/CD pipelines;
- Understanding of how Nomad works and experience creating Nomad jobs;
- Familiarity with the HashiCorp stack, particularly Vault, Nomad, and Consul.
